Outcome

Equinor’s plant is the largest methanol production plant in Europe, and they wanted a new gas field to feed the plant. The gas was high in mercury and hydrogen sulphide, which had to be removed to ensure the safe running of the plant. Equinor installed a mercury removal unit, which include nZero Group’s licensed VE Technology, a critical piece of equipment for the mercury removal unit to ensure the plant’s safety and security.

Challenge

nZero Group’s contribution to this project:

  • Equinor’s Tjeldbergodden plant is the largest methanol production plant in Europe
  • Early warning of saturation of MRU enables bed switchover.
  • nZero Group provided VE representative sampling to extract representative samples of gas for measurement by trace gas analysers to prevent extremely harmful substances being exported, which could cause catastrophic damage to the methanol plant.
